Bandwith Limit Exceeded

Monday, April 28th, 2008

Bandwith Limit Exceeded -This message come up of my website when I tried to access it this morning. Even accessing my “wp-admin” gave the same result.

For the first time I experience a “nightmare” what other website administrator had experience. I e-mailed the administrator of my web host but I realize I can’t read his reply so I text him. I am on fieldwork that afternoon. I received a reply in an instant saying – “Either add Bandwith po or wait till your next cut-off as we have said via email”. I was about to reply when another message arrive – “anyway, I’ve added extra 500 MB Bandwith for free Sir”.

Wow! How sweet. Kenneth let me thank you for this very commendable gesture, a good customer service worth mentioning.

If you are looking for web hosting as kind as this guy, here is the link:

Any suggestion from you guys how I could prevent myself from experiencing this same problem again.

All suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Eat All you Can

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

My family decided to celebrate my birthday by going to the “Eat All You Can” restaurant last Sunday.

I have promised them last year to bring them to those restaurants that my Boss had taken me. I have eaten at Dad’s Restaurant, Chinatown’s Best, Tong-Yang Restaurant (but my budget won’t allow me) and I am discussing these restaurant to my friend on the phone line when our Auditor butt in and told me about this restaurant somewhere in Timog Avenue a few blocks away from Channel 7 Main Building.

We have eaten at Kamay-Kainan somewhere in Kalayaan Avenue so we decided to try other restaurant.

Tramway Restaurant is the name our auditor had given me so I tried to “Google” it and was able to find their landline number (415-2005).

The person on the other line told me that on regular days the price is P189.00 for adult and P133.00 for children (below 4 feet), P312.00 every Sundays inclusive of drinks. Lunch starts at 11:30 and will end at 2:30 PM.

The foods are a mixture of Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The drinks (all you can drinks) consist of Iced Tea and Pineapple juice. There was also Halo-Halo for you to create and there’s a lots of fruits.

We arrive at about 11:10 AM so what my children did was to take pictures of them (all you can take, hehehe). On our way to the restaurant and on our way home, they never get tired of taking pictures especially Lanie.

Going back to Eat All you Can restaurant for the price of P312.00 it is worth your money. These is the only time I saw my wife having a hard time “breathing” for eating too much food but what is funny is when our youngest Daughter arrives carrying watermelon for her. And we thought she is already full?

Oh by the way, my eldest Daughter Mae shoulders the tub. Thanks Mae.

Check these out my friends.

A day in a Courtroom

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Courtroom1Courtroom2

“We must not be late? Hearing starts at 1:00 PM” a text sent to me yesterday as a reminder from my friend whom I would accompany in Mandaluyong City, Hall of Justice (Bulwagan ng Katarungan).

So we meet at about 11:30 am this morning to take our lunch and at exactly 1:00 pm we were at the said place and met up with her Attorney.

1:30 Pm passed by and the Judge hadn’t arrive. The courtroom is now full of people including police escort, plaintiff and those accused of crimes. Then, perhaps sensing that the courtroom whispers becoming louder now, the clerk of court started her roll call of names of contending parties. From there I realize that we are number five (5) from fifteen cases to be heard that day. No wonder some lawyers can be seen standing at back for lack of chairs.

While waiting I notice a lady PAO (Public Attorney’s Office) lawyer holding a three inches thick folder. I politely ask her how long the case been going on? She replied to me that it started 2005 so that make it 3 years now.

I and my friend look at one another in disbelief and sensing these, the lady lawyer told us that we should not be alarmed because another lawyer is holding eight (8) inches thick file. Oh! My, oh! My. So that would make it 8 years already.

2:00 PM and Judge arrives but it won’t start yet. This time we are waiting for the Fiscal. Oh! My God, maybe we have to synchronize the watches of all these people. By 2:30 PM finally the Fiscal arrives and the hearing formally started by calling all present to stand and say a Prayer. (Next time, kindly include in your prayer that important people in court hearing should not be late.)

By 2:45 PM our agony was finished, after those four cases ahead of us were done in a span of 3 minutes per case.

Only last week a result of new lawyers were released and I remember I read somewhere a question whether we still need more lawyers?

Yes! I think we need more Lawyers to become Judges and Fiscal that should ARRIVE at their Sala on time.

A Day in a Courtroom I would never do again. I swear!

But wait before I forget:

Healthy Eating

How can healthy eating and meal planning help my diabetes?

The most important you can do to balance your blood glucose is to eat the right foods. Having diabetes does not mean you will have to give up all foods you now enjoy. However, meal planning must become a big part of your diabetes treatment. All food you eat turns to glucose in your body and you must have enough insulin, either insulin you make or give, to use this food glucose in your body. When you are planning your meals, it will help your diabetes if you:

  • Choose healthy foods such as foods high in fiber and low in fat.
  • Eat the right amount of food at the right times, and don’t skip meals.
  • Use sugar and salt (sodium) in moderation.

How can I lose weight slowly and keep it off?

  • Cut back 250 – 500 calories a day.
  • Increase your daily activity.
  • Avoid fad or crash diets.

What can I learn from the Food Guide Pyramid?

As you can see from the picture below, we should all eat more from the lower half of the pyramid than from the top. To balance your energy needs:

food pyramid

Following is a description of each group and the recommended range of servings of each group.Grains and Starches

At the base of the pyramid are bread, cereal, rice, and pasta. These foods contain mostly carbohydrates. The foods in this group are made mostly of grains, such as wheat, rye, and oats. Starchy vegetables like potatoes, peas, and corn also belong to this group, along with dry beans such as black eyed peas and pinto beans. Starchy vegetables and beans are in this group because they have about as much carbohydrate in one serving as a slice of bread. So, you should count them as carbohydrates for your meal plan.

Choose 6-11 servings per day. Remember, not many people would eat the maximum number of servings. Most people are toward the lower end of the range.

Serving sizes are:

1 slice of bread
¼ of a bagel (1 ounce)
½ an English muffin or pita bread
1, 6 inch tortilla
¾ cup dry cereal
½ cup cooked cereal
½ cup potato, yam, peas, corn, or cooked beans
1 cup winter squash
1/3 cup of rice or pasta
