This evening while trying to view my dashboard at Entrecard, I notice that my ad would now cost 1024 credits. I could’nt believe this so I proceeded to view and check Parenting and Family category where my blog is included. Here is what I find out:

1. GeekMomMashup.com Wait: 8 days Price: 512 ec/ day

2. Mommieshome.net Wait: 9 days Price: 1024 ec/ day

3. Mumsgotta.com Wait: 8 days Price 512 ec/ day

4. Designerfrog.blogspot.com Wait: 8 days Price: 512 ec/ day

5. Sewingmom.com Wait: 8 days Price: 512 ec/ day

6. Junodesigns.blogspot.com Wait: 7 days Price: 256 ec/ day

7. Marriageandbeyond.com Wait: 8 days Price: 512 ec/ day

8. Mythoughtsideasandramblings.com Wait: 8 days Price: 512 ec/ day

9. Mummifiedtimesfive.net Wait: 8 days Price: 512 ec/ day

Base on number of days - the higher or longer the wait the higher is the price or cost of advertising. Could somebody tell me what is going on here?

    Hi,

    It is the latest change in pricing being implemented by EC. It is kinda complicated if I explain it here. So I suggest you visit their blog.

    By the way, there is a confusing ad that goes around. It looks like an EC because it uses the same logo but actually they are not.

    Before you’ll be fooled, I strongly suggest that you visit my latest post and read the details.

    I already informed EC about this and also posted this on their forum.

    I am also requesting you to spread the word to avoid confusion of our fellow members.

    Apparently, EC has changed the method of calculating the cost of advertising. Now it’s based on how many ads are in your que. You might want to check the EC forum for more chatter about it.

    Hi Mon, the price is doubled everytime you get ads from others.. it starts from 2-4-8-16-32-64-128-256-512-1024 and so on.. That’s the algorithm of new pricing system..

    I had the same questions! I know there’s a lot of drama going on with the new pricing system, but I think after everything smooths over, it will reflect a more realistic advertising price.

    This is the new system change of entrecard. And also the way your site appear in order on the campaign. I think they did this so that site owners would be try buying credits now.
