“Where would blogs be without Entrecard?”
“Where would blogs be without Entrecard?”
This question would surely raise an eyebrow or uproar to those non-Entrecard believers. I have seen quite a few posts why they remove it from their blog.
But to those who are fanatics and believer this question will surely solicit a lot of positive response and reactions.
More especially now that an improvement was created with their latest partnership with SezWho. This partnership for sure created a lot of excitement and activity in the blogging world.
For me Entrecard created a window for my blog in terms of opportunity to be found by fellow blogger. With the widget installed – it serves as a link for other fellow entrecarder for my site to be discovered by them. Some members eventually become my cyber friends.
As they say in Blogging, content is still the King then Entrecard is the queen.
I don’t know if this post is right, I am just stating my opinion.
May I hear from you guys?

I agree with you. My blog was lonely before entrecard, but when I registered, I was able to discover many wonderful blogs. I am glad I was able to be a member of entrecard. Thought provoking post. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that content is king in the blogging world. But I had no one to look at my content until i started entrecard. Poor me ! Since entrecard my visitor numbers have jumped up dramatically. Now maybe with sezwho more of them will actually stick around and comment.

Well… let’s put it this way… I’ve been away from blogging for approximately 4 months (yes, I haven’t written in 4 months… and I only wrote 2 silly entries so far in 2008).
Entrecard seems to have a positive effect for my blog in terms of “Alexa” rank boost / maintaining to approx. 164,000… which is actually now much higher number than when I left blogging. WEIRD and funny.
However, like many detractors of Entrecard, I do concur that most traffic from Entrecard are “hit-and-run” droppers. Sure, it boosts your Alexa rank… but it’s rather like wearing a… FAKE Rolex.
Content as everyone will agree… is still king… in combination with ‘online social networking’ (commenting, getting to know your readers). That’s the aspect of Entrecard I like - the social networking aspect.

Agree With you, Up till now my traffic coming from the entrecard seem like ‘drop n run’ style. as my blog was still new and not too much article in it. Also i pick a very - very small population of people who concern about it (Delphi Programming)so slow2 moving before entre card now my alexa was going up sky high.And content was still the issue..

I want to agree with you because you are my partner and I met you through Entrecard, but I disagree with some points. While I agree that Entrecard is a good social site, you cannot avoid the high bounce rate. This is why I will not enroll my WP blog at Entrecard.
For me, forum posting is still better because you can be seen by many simultaneously, and you can also have a lot of friends even more than what we get at Entrecard.
But again, Entrecard is good but I cannot consider her a queen.

So true, its all about finding new blogs and reading about what other people are saying and doing. For me anyone who is just using it to get traffic is missing the whole point of Entrecard.

I discovered blogs before entrecard using a mom site. And used their blog rolls to find even more. I stayed within that circle since my blog was not around. I got bored one day made my blog and my circle became my readers. I joined a few blog network sites found more got more hits. Then one in my circle had EC on her blog…so I joined. Since then I have found even more blogs and in return my blog has gotten noticed. Now with sezwho I’m willing to bet that I will get more readers talking. How they start talking I don’t care as long as they do! I talk on others blogs but they never return the favor…until now! It’s good and bad…but I will take what I can get!

I use blogspot and it SezWho is way too buggy to use with it. It slowed my load time way down and I hated those pop ups that you had to click to close. I have since removed it from my blog. But, I do agree that Entrecard is a great way to increase traffic to your blog. It does increase your bounce rate, BUT I’ve found some great reads along the way as well as gained readers. So, it’s not all bad.

EntreCard is an excellent resource… But it should not be your only resource. A successful blog or web site requires a diverse set of resources. Relying on a single resource can be problamatic at best.
